Governance

Innoventures Canada Inc. is federally incorporated as a non-profit organization.

I-CAN is designed to represent the best in current practise for non-profit organizations:

  • Governance through industry led boards
  • Professional operations, commitment to customer service and commercial business practises that companies understand, share and support
  • Program design that is predominantly market-based and solutions-driven

The I-CAN Board of Directors is responsible for approving the strategic plan and annual budget; initiating policy; reviewing performance, ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated; and acting as effective trustees of I-CAN on behalf of the members and the public.

The I-CAN Board meets at least quarterly, holds an annual strategic planning session for I-CAN members and its advisory board, and occasionally a Board retreat.  Other meetings are held as needed.
